The Joint Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (JRTF-ELCAC) MIMAROPA successfully held its FY 2024 4th Quarter Full Council Meeting held at Hotel Lucky China Town, Binondo, Manila on Monday, December 2.

The meeting focused on critical regional issues, including internal security in MIMARO updates from the 2nd Infantry Division, and internal security in Palawan and updates in the West Philippine Sea presented by the AFP Western Command.

Meanwhile, JRTF-ELCAC TWG Secretariat (DICT MIMAROPA) presented the major accomplishments of the task force for the quarter. They also provided Starlink kit to NICA and 203rd Infantry Brigade to enable them to deliver basic services more efficiently.

CORDS MIMAROPA and DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy presided the said meeting and was attended by DICT Undersecretary Paul Mercado, Regional Director Emmy Lou Delfin (DICT MIMAROPA), PCOL Hordan Pacatiw (PRO MIMAROPA), BGEN Erwin Alea, PA (2ID), COL Eliezer Valdez, Jr. (AFP WesCom), Assistant Regional Director Rey Maranan, CESO IV (DILG MIMAROPA) and other JRTF-ELCAC members.

The said meeting also provided an opportunity for JRTF-ELCAC members to exchange ideas and discuss strategies to address the relevant issues of insurgency in the region.
