Building a Safer Workforce, One Habit at a Time!

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) MIMAROPA successfully conducted a Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Orientation titled “Better Operations by Safety Habits” with the theme “Building a Safer Workforce, One Habit at a Time” on November 4, 2025, held at the DILG MIMAROPA Regional Office Conference Area, Quezon City.

The activity aimed to strengthen the knowledge, awareness, and commitment of DILG MIMAROPA personnel to uphold a safe, healthy, and productive work environment. It also underscored the importance of cultivating positive safety habits as part of everyday operations.

One of the highlights of the orientation was the participation of Ms. Eunice Chu from the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), who served as Resource Speaker and discussed the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP)—focusing on the benefits, coverage, and assistance available to government employees in cases of work-related injury, illness, or death.

Other key discussions included the Orientation on the Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP) Version 3 and the presentation of the Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) modules, which covered essential topics such as hazard identification, risk assessment, and the hierarchy of controls.

As part of the office’s preparedness and safety measures, the DILG MIMAROPA Regional Office also facilitated the distribution of go bags and hard hats to all personnel, along with the replenishment of go bag contents to ensure readiness during emergencies or unforeseen events.

Through this initiative, DILG MIMAROPA reaffirms its commitment to building a culture of safety, health, and preparedness in the workplace—one habit at a time—ensuring that every employee is informed, protected, and empowered to perform their duties safely and efficiently. 💪
