The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) MIMAROPA, through its Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), conducted an inspection and validation of proposed, ongoing, and completed projects in the province of Romblon from September 1 to 5, 2025.
The monitoring and evaluation (M&E) team, composed of regional and provincial engineers together with the project evaluation officer, also provided technical assistance to local government units (LGUs) in preparing the necessary documentary requirements for fund release.
Among the projects inspected and validated were the following:
• FY 2025 LGSF-SAFPB – Rehabilitation of Water System in Concepcion Norte, Sta. Maria, Romblon
• FY 2025 LGSF-SAFPB – Improvement of Tugdan Water Supply System in Alcantara, Romblon
• FY 2024 LGSF-SAFPB – Rehabilitation/Expansion of Water Supply System in Ferrol, Romblon
• SGLGIF – Concreting of Local Access Road in Sitio Dumrog, Looc, Romblon
These initiatives aim to improve public service delivery, particularly by expanding access to safe and reliable water supply across barangays in Romblon, which is expected to benefit more than 3,000 households in the identified communities, while the completed access road in Looc is projected to ease mobility and transport for at least 500 residents and farmers.
